Solar
Advantage Capital has a long history of helping companies create lasting impact in their communities. Our work with solar developers provides an opportunity to build additional impact – improving community access to clean energy and invigorating local economies.
We provide financing to solar developers who are creating high-impact solar projects across the U.S. We also apply our tax-advantaged capital management experience to build diversified investment portfolios across the solar industry.
We offer flexible financing solutions to seasoned operating partners with strong track records, newly constructed solar facilities qualifying for the federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC), or ITC-eligible storage-plus-solar projects. Our investments help to fund utility, corporate, municipal entity, commercial and industrial, and community solar projects.
Institutional Investment Strategy and Process
Our institutional quality investment strategy is underpinned by the best practices of an SEC-registered investment advisor with an outstanding track record of more than 30 years. With decades of experience in the clean power generation and tax credit investment sectors, our solar investment professionals have deep industry relationships.
A well-defined process for sourcing, selecting, analyzing, executing, and asset management ensures that capital is deployed efficiently and cost-effectively, and in compliance with our investment strategy.
Long Term Relationships with Developers
We are focused on building strong, multi-year relationships with high quality developers, and we understand the unique challenges they face to develop, construct, finance and operate solar projects.
Our highly experienced team of investment professionals is supplemented by all the necessary third parties to work with our developer partners to close transactions in an efficient manner.
Investment Strategy
For every prospective Investment, we conduct a comprehensive transaction review to determine whether the prospective investment is consistent with our established policies, portfolio strategy, and investment parameters.
Due Diligence and Execution
If the potential investment meets the requirements of our transaction review, we will conduct a systematic due diligence process. Our focus is to assess all risks which we deem to be of material importance to the receipt of the solar investment tax credit and sufficient project cash flows to achieve our expected returns.
Asset Management
We employ a continued asset management approach centered on the implementation of business plans consistent with original investment cases, best practices, and operational improvement. Post-investment monitoring forms a critical component of the asset management process and seeks to achieve operational, strategic, and financial enhancements at the asset level.
Only investors that qualify as “accredited investors” as defined in Regulation D under the Securities Act of 1933, “qualified purchasers” as defined in the Investment Company Act of 1940, and/or “qualified clients” within the meaning of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 will be permitted to review offering materials or subscribe for interests in any funds referenced on this website or in other materials provided by Advantage Capital. In order to qualify as an investor in a fund, individuals and institutions must provide certain information and satisfy certain criteria, which is discussed in greater detail in the fund’s confidential private offering memorandum and related documentation.
