SAINT LOUIS—Advantage Capital, an impact investor based in St. Louis, announced today a $100,000 donation to support the efforts of Arch Grants to champion startup entrepreneurs committed to building and growing their businesses in the St. Louis region.

Since 2012, Arch Grants has been a trailblazer in disrupting the status quo of St. Louis’ economic development. The non-profit seeks to attract and retain extraordinary entrepreneurs in the area. Through its unique annual Startup Competition model, it provides equity-free grants of up to $100,000 and access to an ecosystem of resources, helping early-stage startups grow and scale in the city.

“Advantage Capital put a stake in the ground in support of advancing the St. Louis region in 2012 by contributing $100,000 to Arch Grants,” said Gabe Angieri, Executive Director, Arch Grants. “The renewed support through this $100,000 contribution will help us continue to meet our mission of growing startup companies and keeping them here in St. Louis.”

Arch Grants has awarded funding to 230 startups, 69% of which are led or co-led by a woman, person of color, immigrant, or veteran. These businesses have cumulatively created over 3,200 jobs in St. Louis, generated over $660 million in revenue and attracted over $650 million in follow-on capital.

“Arch Grants and Advantage Capital are a perfect pair. We both believe in building small business to support local economies,” said Sandra M. Moore, Chief Impact Officer and Managing Director at Advantage Capital. “I am pleased to see this partnership expand and look forward to participating in the positive community impact and quality job creation it will foster in and around our hometown.”

The significance of this gift goes beyond the money. Through this partnership, Advantage Capital will engage in Arch Grants’ Corporate Advisory Council and other volunteer leadership roles, as well as working directly with its entrepreneurs by serving as mentors, program presenters and competition judges.
